So our Youngest is on a wheat free diet, we have found a bread recipe he quite likes but he is missing "proper toast" as he calls it. Does anyone know of any bread recipes as close to normal bread as possible?

I haven't looked because I'm on a low carb diet and almost all wheat substitutes are still too high in carbs for me. BUT! You can try a flax bread or potato bread...there should be wheat free recipes for those some where. I'll keep my eyes open for ya.

Hmmm....or buckwheat bread. I think you'll have a lot of luck if you stick to flatbreads. I have a recipe for chickpea flatbread. It's a traditional Tuscan recipe. I don't particularly like the taste though, a little bitter.

sorry, everything i tried isn't nearly the right texture. it's impossible to get without gluten. do you put xantham gum in your recipie? it makes it have a better texture.
