Has anyone else noticed that film ratings seem to have changed a lot since we were kids. What would have been an 18 when I was young can pass as a 12 these days. I always thought you could rely on the rating of a film to judge whether or not it is suitable viewing for my kids but after putting 'Sucker Punch' for my 13 year old and a friend of mine taking her daughter to 'Super 8' we've found this just isn't the case - both were far from suitable. 'Sucker Punch' my not contain swearing or outright sex or real violence but the storyline and innuendo were very much for strictly adult only and therefore I feel it should not have been rated a 12. Needless to say my 13 year old did not get to watch it.

Dirty Dancing was a 15 when it came out, now it's a PG, I wouldn't let my kids watch it!!
